Anne Trout
Bassist Anne Trout has performed as principal bass, toured and recorded with most of the prominent early music ensembles in North America since the mid-90s. These include Handel & Haydn Society, Trinity Wall Street, St. Thomas Boys Choir, Boston Early Music Festival Orchestra, American Classical Orchestra, Clarion Society, Boston Baroque, Tempesta di Mare, Concert Royal, Opera Lafayette, Washington Bach Consort, The Sebastians, Emmanuel Music, Philharmonia Baroque, Tafelmusik. Treasured chamber music collaborations include a longtime association with the previously-active baroque group REBEL, the unique early ensemble Four Nations, Wagonseil cello quartet recitals presented by Phoebe Carrai, Schubert “Trout” Quintet with the Atlantic Trio, Bach cantatas with Sanford Sylvan. She has performed in groundbreaking opera, theater and dance productions with Mark Morris, Peter Sellars, Jonathan Miller and R.B. Schlather. Since 1999 she has periodically accepted invitations to join various ensembles in European tours and festival appearances. She is a longtime member of Aston Magna and Blue Hill Bach.
Recent engagements include Upper Valley Baroque led by Filippo Ciabatta, NY-based ACRONYM at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Ensemble Altera with Christopher Lowrey in Rhode Island historic venues, 150th Anniversary celebration concert with the Boston Cecilia Society at Jordan Hall.
Anne serves on the faculties of Longy School of Music of Bard College in Cambridge and Boston College. She performs on the fully-restored ‘Delmas’ Maggini, a rare Brescian five-string bass from 1610.
