As the United States marks its 250th anniversary, Aurora Camerata opens the season with American Voices, an uplifting program exploring the sounds, stories, and traditions that have shaped American life. Joined by Chris Moore on guitarsand Callie Brennan on fiddle, Aurora’s professional singers weave together early psalmody, shape-note traditions, Shaker song, folk hymnody, spiritual resonances, and evocative historical readings—offering not a conventional patriotic pageant, but a living conversation in music and words: sacred and civic, local and national, historical and deeply human.
